I'm thinking about 4corners because I heard that they are good and cheap and if I buy 2, I get an extra deck. Do you have better ideas? I think that I maybe can trade this third deck for something new, or sell it, or keep it as an extra deck. I hope you can help me.
Do not buy 4c! Support proper fingerboarding, not asshole china companies just selling mass produced shit at a huge profit and not giving anything back to fingerboarding.
20 euros for a complete does limit you otherwise.. I'd maybe go for a redemption deck, wide trucks (available from many places), and stick with tech deck wheels or any other wheels you have. Now I am just stating some facts but perhaps there shouldn't be THIS MUCH hatred towards 4C. People say they have not given anything back but from the limited time I've been back in the fingerboard scene, 4C have given out a lot of tape to a lot of people (including me) on FFI when people wanted to try the tape. When 4C paid for an ad in Thrasher skateboard magazine, they had a competition on FFI and gave out copies of Thrasher and packs of the fingerboard tape. I posted dates of a Tech Deck tour in a thread on FBHQ and Bobby (the owner of 4C) went to one of the events and got some special Tech Decks that are unique to each stop on the tour. I jokingly said that he should send me one for telling him about it and a few weeks later, out of nowhere, I received a little package from 4C with one of the rare Tech Decks and yet another pack of tape for free. They've been around for longer than I've been back in the scene so I don't know if they have done anything else, good or bad, besides what I listed. I do realise that they use Chinese products but from the personal acts of generosity towards me, I believe people can support them if they want to. Anyway, your budget is really quite low. For low budgets, a Close Up complete is usually very good but I believe it is 22€ for the G4 complete. I highly recommend their bearing wheels too. Judging by your name, if you're in Belgium, it should be pretty quick since Close Up are based in France. Close Up are known to support the scene very well so no one will hound you for buying from them. |

Make sense. The only one thing I like about 4C is I bought a pivot cup from them 6 pcs strips for a dollar. compared to the other companies 1 pair for a dollar that barely enough for one setup for same material.. |

| I think bobby is nice, but selling two completes for such low prices like he does on ebay or his site really damages fingerboarding. in my books anyone who truly cared about fingerboarding wouldn't sell china stuff. still, I guess hes one of the better ones. |

| @ Xi: I think that I'm going to buy a 4c because they're a lot cheaper then Close Up and my maximum is €20, not €21. I once said to my mother (who's going to buy this as a Christmas present) that this are "cheap" completes, she didn't want to believe me and she doesn't want to "waste" her money on "something stupid" (she said it literally) as a "little skateboard" so I'm allready happy that after last year there was something wrong with my trucks, she wants to buy another one, and I think she only wants to pay as less as possible and I haven't heard anything bad about 4cfingerboards (I mean about their fingerboards, not about their way to go on with the scene). I hope you understand what I'm saying, because I'm the worst in English of my class |

You could always wait and save a bit more money for a more expensive setup. Perhaps you can negotiate with your mother and ask if you can give her some money towards a better fingerboard. I don't know what setup you have currently but maybe you can use the money to only buy what you need instead of a whole new setup. |

Close Up bearing wheels - mid price, first ever urethane fingerboard wheels, they are branded and have a traditional shape. These are my favourite wheels. If you've already used the Close Up metal core wheels, the bearing wheels are so much smoother, with the same outer material. Oak wheels - expensive urethane wheels with a skinny and centralised design. Some of them feature graphics too. I like the material and graphics but I personally don't like the shapes they do as it exposes the truck axles and damages surfaces. Flatface wheels - expensive wheels and there is a huge range of different colours, materials and designs. Most of these are pretty standard wheels. No Comply wheels - Probably the best value wheels in North America. I've had 3 models and they're all awesome and cheaper than Flatface. Winkler wheels - Expensive and quite standard wheels, mine have pretty nice screeching sounds. Substance wheels - Another major wheel company and they do quite a few models of wheels. They're expensive but pretty high quality. China wheels - Don't do it. I've just received a set of these and only 1 of the 4 wheels turn. They might be much cheaper but you'll appreciate better quality wheels. I think I've covered the major wheel companies in the market. There's Cartwheels but Simon's still working on the public release. |

Just buy any China trucks and swap in the baseplate. Maybe buy from Flatface or No Comply. |

| BRRs + Tkys (worth the extra bit of money, stock bushings aren't great if you ride loose. they're okay for medium, and tight, but not loose) are the best combination in the world. seriously, nothing turns as good as them, grinds as smooth, or rolls as well (with brr ed wheels). I have three sets, and I love them. I also have ytrucks x3s, which are better than wides, but imo not as nice as brrs. |

Also, i have had TD's where the kingpin was extremely crooked. nothing to do about that. |

Tech deck bushings are awful, and even when they're molded perfectly, the eventually mess up with only a little bit of use. Also, TONS of tech deck trucks have crooked kingpins, as stated above. They're cheaply mass produced. I'd recommend just buying new tech decks until you get the perfect set. Maybe get one of the 5-10 packs so that you will have a bit of backup hardware. That is, if you're on a budget. If you can order online and have about $10 to spare, I'd just order a decent pair. But even the good trucks get this problem quite often. It's more or less something that I've just grown used to. It's irritating, but I now tolerate it. If the bushings are rubber, they can get smashed from being over-tightened for too long. When this happens with mine, I just take the bushings out and let them sit by themselves for a few hours to see if it retains a bit of it's original shape. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. With more expensive trucks or bushings, you will have to worry about this a lot less. Whether it's worth the extra time and cash is up to you. I hope this was a tad bit helpful. Best of luck!! |

| tech decks suck? Save a bit of money and get a good cheap deck (redemption for example), and some flatface dump trucks or other wide trucks to go with it. Maybe something second hand from one of the members here, you might be able to pick up a decent second hand deck for like $5, and maybe some cheap wides too. tech deck stuff is all badly made, so you're going to want to step up your game eventually. for more info on going from tech deck to beasty setup, read the new to fingerboarding guide on www.unitefingerboarding.com |

If you trade online you could probably get one for cheaper. OR you could buy a deck from one of the companies on here like Temple of Lovedrug.
Tech Decks are just there to see if you are actually interested in fingerboarding at all.
Just for the love of god don't but something from a china company. If you are unsure about any sort of purchase post here and we'll do our best to help you. |

So what do you think, what do I need to do better: buy now bollie trucks and winklers ant later buy ytrucks, or don't buy anything now, and later buy brt and ww brr edition? Or maybe there is a way to make winkler wheels (not brr edition) fit blackriver trucks? Sorry if my english is bad. |

Hello, As far as I know it will fit. BUT, the only difference is that BRR'ed wheels is locked into place and allowing your bearings to work in the way which they were designed. meaning BRR'ed wheels does have an exact hole enough to fit to the axles of the trucks where you can experience the full potential of it while non BRR'ed wheels has a lil bit larger hole to fit on any trucks and the bearing itself will just slip to the axle while rolling. That's one of the reasons why BRT's has the edge to its competitors. |
