ok so when i try to kick flip i:

a. lanch the board into the air or forward
b. lift my front finger up so when i try to slide no flip
or c. i land it (after 20 trys) but its very slopy when i land it always turns 2....

any help?

What I tend to find helpful is to pretend I'm doing an ollie at first. But instead of just sliding your finger forward, slide it forward and to the corner of the nose for it to flip. Also, try to lift your middle finger off the tail so that it'll be able to flip. Sorry if this isn't that helpful, I can't really explain it.

If not, you could try this video, I learned it from him

All this aside.... Just keep practicin man, 1 in 20 will become 3 in 20 landed and so on...

i remember kickflips taking like 3 hours of legit practicing to get down pat. just sit down and commit to practicing

Starting off with an ollie and then doing the flip is really important, I used to try adn do it directly from the ground but doing the ollie motion helps a lot.
I'm just starting to get them consistent after a few days.

wow 3 hours thats fast 0_o

well.. mike schnieders tutorial helped... but when i was learning kickflips.. just try to ollie but let your hand leave the board.. you will need kinda a high ollie though... it took me like 2 days to learn kickflips

MikeSchneider tutorial > Gary Chin tutorial IMO it was just easier

Took me months to learn how to kickflip.

I remember when I did a perfect one over a gap. And I palmed it.

Just practice, honestly that's the best thing you can do haha. Watch the Mike Schneider tutorial too

is it best to learn fakie?

Doesn't matter imo, I learnt fakie ollies before I did normal

fakie kickflips use different finger movements because you already have the momentum going against your fingers. it would be counterproductive
